Regional Rental Role of Behavioral Health Worker |
REGIONAL RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM Application Process To apply, a current Regional Rental Assistance Program tenant application form must be completed in its entirety and sent to CAHMS. Because the many initial and ongoing eligibility requirements makes the application process fairly complex, prospective program participants will need to work collaboratively with their behavioral health worker/agency to complete the application form and submit all required certifications. If the applicant has a legal guardian, the legal guardian must also sign the various certifications and authorizations required by the application. Upon receipt of a completed application, including all required signed certifications and supporting documentation, CAHMS will review the application to determine the applicant's eligibility and priority status. CAHMS will inform the applicant and, as appropriate, his/her behavioral health worker and/or legal guardian about the results of this review. If the applicant is found potentially eligible and falls within one of the state-established priority groups, CAHMS will contact the applicant to set up an appointment to verify income and explain the next steps in the process. If the applicant is found potentially eligible, but a voucher is not currently available due to demand and/or the State's prioritization system, CAHMS will inform him/her and, as appropriate, the behavioral health worker and/or legal guardian, that the application has been placed on a waiting list. If the applicant is found to be ineligible for the program, CAHMS will provide notice of this finding take no further action on the application. During the application and qualifying process, the applicant is responsible for promptly notifying CAHMS of any change of address, phone number, or other contact information. If CAHMS cannot contact the individual, it cannot complete the process and the applicant will no longer be considered eligible for the program. It is also the responsibility of the applicant and his/her behavioral health worker to immediately notify CAHMS of changes in income, housing needs, or behavioral health status as this can impact the applicant's eligibility. A current application form can be downloaded by clicking on the Forms link located to the left. Application forms may also be obtained through one's behavioral health worker or by contacting CAHMS.
